wined! dined!

February is almost gone. Where have I been! Well besides of a week of incredible wining and dining (and shows and cocktails and shoes and adventure) with my Mom and Bryan, I've been screaming towards deadlines.

Because my screaming is not particularly photogenic, I present some wining and dining shots instead. Here we are heading out on the town last Saturday. (Yes, I always wear my red coat when I take our elevator.)

After hearing Mahler's Das lied von der Erde at the Royal Festival Hall, we walked over the Thames to the Savoy -- recently restored to its 1920s glory.

Nicholas Thompson, professional Cocktail Researcher, works on his "Perfect 10" in the Savoy's Beaufort Bar.

A trip to London is never complete without a trip to Harrods' Food Hall... it's best just before closing time -- with fewer people and temptations.

And of course a trip through the Burlington Arcade...

We can't thank you two enough for spoiling us and for your company. The time together was such a treat! I am so thankful you made it.

I promise to post more soon... as soon as I get through my current stack of library books. ... Onwards!

il barbiere di siviglia

Last evening we went to the Royal Opera House to see Rossini's The Barber of Seville.

It was a Christmas gift from this well-dressed chap.

The opera is totally ridiculous. The cast played it up and set was clever and whacky. It was a great laugh -- we definitely didn't look this serious after the production.

And good thing we have eagle eyes because, as you know, the cool kids always sit in the back.
